Th...This will hurt performance rather then help it. This deletes the prefetch folders contents.<br /><br />The prefetcher makes windows faster rather then slower. It does this by watching which files load at start up and then logs its findings into the prefetcher folder. At next start up it loads the files mentioned in the log once and keeps them in memory for start up for only around 150 seconds max.<br /><br />Defraging also uses this info to move these start up files next to each other so they can be read faster.<br /><br />By deleting the logs, you are forcing xp to rewrite to log every single time the computer starts up.
